I am Wang Liqing (王丽清, Wáng Lìqīng). If you have found your way here, chances are you are interested in learning Chinese language and culture, and I am delighted to be part of your journey.
I come from Changsha (长沙, Chángshā), a city known for its long history, vibrant traditions, and fiery cuisine. Growing up there taught me to appreciate both the endurance of culture and the excitement of discovery. For more than five years, I have been teaching Chinese to students from around the world. What began as a profession quickly became a passion. Every student brings a unique perspective, and every lesson becomes an opportunity for cultural exchange.
Why I Do What I Do?
Language is much more than vocabulary lists and grammar rules. It is the living memory of a people. It carries stories, values, humor, and wisdom accumulated over centuries. My passion for Chinese teaching is deeply connected to my love of calligraphy (书法, shūfǎ), HSK preparation (汉语水平考试, Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì), storytelling, and writing books about Chinese language and culture. Whether I am explaining a grammar pattern, introducing an idiom, or discussing a historical text, my goal is always the same: to help students see the humanity behind the language.
Calligraphy has taught me patience. Writing has taught me observation. Teaching has taught me empathy. Together, they have shaped the way I approach education. I believe that every Chinese character tells a story, and every student has the ability to unlock it.
Beyond the Classroom
I have always been curious about the world around me. Over the years, I have traveled to more than 200 cities across China. From ancient capitals and mountain villages to modern metropolises, each destination has deepened my understanding of the country I call home. Every city preserves its own traditions, dialects, legends, and customs. These experiences continually enrich both my teaching and my writing.
I enjoy listening to music (音乐, yīnyuè), swimming (游泳, yóuyǒng), visiting historical sites, and searching for stories hidden in old streets and forgotten places. History has a remarkable way of reminding us that people separated by centuries often share the same hopes, fears, and dreams.
Our Shared Journey
This website was created for people who want more than a textbook experience. It is a place where language (语言, yǔyán) and culture (文化, wénhuà) meet. Here, you will find resources to improve your Chinese skills while also gaining a deeper understanding of the traditions, literature, history, and ideas that have shaped China for thousands of years.
Learning Chinese is not always easy. There will be moments when tones seem impossible, characters appear endless, and progress feels slower than you would like. That is perfectly normal. Every fluent speaker once struggled with their first sentence. Every accomplished writer once stared at a blank page. Progress comes from persistence (坚持, jiānchí), curiosity, and the willingness to keep moving forward.
I take your learning seriously, but I also believe that language study should contain moments of joy. If we cannot smile at our mistakes, we miss some of the best lessons. A little patience, a little humor, and a lot of determination can take us surprisingly far.
You are here because your curiosity has led you to something new. Together, let us transform that curiosity into understanding, confidence, and connection. Let us explore the beauty of the Chinese language and uncover the stories, ideas, and traditions that make it one of the world’s most fascinating cultures.
Welcome to the journey.

I’m Komang, originally from Bali and a student at Ganesha University of Education who is conducting research on Swear Words Used by Chinese. I need some perspectives from people who understand this field, and I think you are the right person to help me. I’d like to interview you briefly about this topic if you are willing. The time can be flexible, at your convenience. Of course, all information will be kept confidential and used only for my research purposes.
I really appreciate your help, thank you very much!
Hello Qing,
It’s admirable how you’re so enthusiastic about representing your culture and teaching people about it. I’m a female undergraduate student from Turkey, studying Translation and Interpretation. I’m doing some research and writing about the Chinese culture for a course and for the midterm I need to interview someone from the culture. Would you be interested in it? I thought that someone like you who is interested in teaching people about her culture would be the best candidate:) If you want to, I could talk about my culture as well, we could exchange experiences, it would be both enlightening and delightful. Also, given that you’re also working on languages, I think we could get along. If you’re interested, please hit me up and I’ll share the details with you and you could decide later.
Take care.
