Let’s learn some famous Chinese short stories (学习中文短篇小说)! There are so many ancient fables (寓言故事) that are well-known in China. In order to better understand the Chinese culture, it’s very important to know these stories.
Although China has its own set of huge collection of ancient fables, there are numerous famous fables of foreign origin, such as Aesop’s Fables (伊索寓言), that are very much appreciated in China.
I’m glad to bring you to the Chinese Short Stories series. The series contains numerous fables popular in China. I’m also including a few non-Chinese stories that are part of the Chinese textbooks.
How many Chinese short stories do you know so far?
In this post, I will list down books on Barnes & Noble (eBooks, and paperbacks) to learn Chinese short stories. I will recommend you the books specially designated for the Chinese language students. These books, suitable for HSK all levels, contain very simple Chinese sentences (simplified characters). Even a level 1 student should be able to read them.
