We are nearly 1.4Bn. Different people, different characteristics.
That said, we Chinese people share a great deal of similarities, such as:
We love our motherland. We are generally tolerant of all types of cultures and social issues. However, you shouldn’t speak ill of our motherland. In particular, if you are a foreigner, this is not something you wouldn’t really want to mess up.
We are friendly, open minded and outgoing people.
We are shy and often don’t initiate conversation. If you want to make friend with us, don’t mind saying hello.
We are busy people.

We are practical about life.
We are family-oriented people.
We love to laugh and share joy together.
We are proud of our cultural heritage.
We are peace-loving nation.
We are an ethnically diverse nation. China has 56 nationalities. We all live together peacefully.
Although Mandarin Chinese is the main language spoken across China, we do have multiple local languages. Point being, most of the Chinese speak more than one language.
Not to mention, English is part of the compulsory education program in China. So, we do have decent English skills.
